James Kay Associates have a fantastic new opportunity to join a growing Financial Services based client who are based in Nottingham.

They are looking for a Internal Audit Officer to join their team who has a background regulatory finance.

As Internal Audit Officer you will work closely with other Risk & Compliance colleagues to promote clear understanding of compliance & auditing requirements and support best standards of compliance across the business.

The Role:

• Working alongside the business and Senior Management team to evaluate and prepare the scope and testing approach of assurance reviews to ensure they are fit for purpose.
• To ensure all policies and processes are adhered to by the company
• Conducting internal audit testing and monitoring of key controls, along with thematic reviews in accordance with the Agile Assurance Backlog.
• Preparing reports which include presentation of results, the rationale for findings, risks posed, and action required to address the risks
• Collection and processing of data

Skills & Experience:

• An up-to-date knowledge and understanding of regulatory principles and rules, including Consumer Duty, CONC, GDPR etc.
• Someone who shows great attention to detail and has a proactive and assertive approach, with strong problem-solving skills and pragmatic decision making.
• Experience in a compliance, assurance, or internal audit Function in UK financial services.
• Good administrative & IT skills
• Great communication skills, both written and verbal
• Stakeholder management skills
• Have or working toward an ICA qualification or equivalent
